Yes, you can use pre-tax dollars from a health savings account (HSA) to pay for visits, testing, supplements, medications, and medical devices.
2. Can I use a Health savings account to pay for visits?
No, but I do accept HSA and FSA cards along with debit and credit. I do not bill insurance, but I can provide superbills for you to submit to insurance.
1. Do you accept insurance?
I am currently only seeing patients virtually, via Zoom or phone.
3. Do you see your patients in person?
Prior to your initial functional medicine consultation, I will review new patient forms, including in-depth medical, diet, and lifestyle questionnaires.
During the initial visit, I will spend 60-80 minutes with you reviewing your current health concerns and discussing your personal and family history in detail. This includes a review of any previous lab work, if applicable. It is also important to know all medications and supplements that you are taking, so please have a list of these available during your visit. Based on your unique health concerns, I will discuss options for relevant lab testing, as well as provide an initial plan for nutrition, lifestyle, supplementation, and medications as appropriate.
If needed, the initial appointment can be continued in a follow up appointment 2 weeks later. These first 1-2 appointments are to get to know you and understand your journey thus far.
Next, a follow up visit is scheduled 4-6 weeks later to review test results. At this appointment, I will give you even more specific dietary and supplementation recommendations based on your unique needs. Expect an actionable, personalized health plan following each visit – including key points from our discussion, specific supplement recommendations, nutrition guidelines , and appropriate referrals.
5. How do visits work?
6. What makes me a good fit to work with you?
You’ll have access to me through portal messaging between visits, which we will use for simple clarifications and questions. If I want to make changes to your treatment plan due to new concerns that arise or you have questions that require a conversation, then we will schedule a brief visit to discuss this.
4. How can I contact you between visits?
This varies from patient to patient, but I generally recommend expecting at least 3-6 months and possibly longer depending on the complexity of your case.
8. How long will it take for me to start noticing improvements in my health?
If you are open to changing your diet and lifestyle.
Willingness to use stress management techniques like meditation.
Understanding that the healing process of functional medicine may take longer than using a conventional medication.
7. Why would I not be a good fit to work with you?
If you are looking for medications or therapies like IVF/IUI I am not able to help you due to scope of practice. I do prescribe medications if the situation arises, but I prefer to use natural methods like lifestyle changes and supplements before conventional medicine to avoid side effects and promote healing.
If you are hoping to work with a practitioner in person.
If you are not open to changing your diet or follow recommendations related to stress management, we are likely not a good fit for one another.
